As you may be aware the University purchased 1000 bikes in 2020 initially to be made available to our students. The offer to purchase a bike for £75 was extended to staff just before Christmas 2020. This proved to be a great success and since then we have been consistently contacted to enquire if staff can purchase more than one bicycle.

We can now announce that staff can purchase more than one bicycle for a limited time. We have released a further 50 bicycles on a first come, first served basis. The purchase procedure is the same as it was before. Please indicate on your application that this is to purchase a second bicycle. This offer will supplement the formal Cycle to Work scheme already available to employees (details can be found via the following link

If you haven’t already purchased a bicycle through the scheme then this is a great opportunity to purchase one or two bikes at once should you wish to.

Access to cycles means that employees are able to travel to and from University, and between campuses, avoiding the need to use public transport where they may have legitimate concerns about the spread of the virus. Cycling also has added health benefits for employees, as well as helping to protect the environment. You may have seen that the University has also provided more areas around the campus for you to ‘park’ your bicycle when you attend site. This means the bike can remain secure when you are at work.

We have both male and female versions and we have small, medium and large in each type also. Each bike is issued with a free helmet. The bike you order will be subject to availability of this size and is strictly on a first come, first served basis.

It should be noted that this offer is separate to the Cycle to Work Scheme referred to above.

In order to apply to purchase an additional bike we would like you to complete the application form and send it to the email address below. Once received we will reply with further instructions. These instructions will include agreeing to our terms and conditions and instructions to pay £75 online through Finance.

If you require any further information surrounding this offer, please call 01204 903172 for more details.
