Dear Colleagues,

This is to let you know that the University’s annual TIRI conference will be held on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 July – please put the dates in your diary.

The conference will be split into two days, on the Wednesday there will be a full conference hosted at the University of Bolton, on Thursday this will be reserved for faculties/schools to lead, more information to follow once the conference papers have been received.

The overall theme is Staff Development Enhancing Student Learning, and there are three sub-themes:

  • Impact of research on your teaching
  • Impact of practice on your teaching
  • Impact of research informing your teaching

Attached is a call for colleagues (individually or with others) to volunteer to present at the conference, there are a number of methods that presenters can use. This year we are accepting presentations in the formats listed below;

  • Pecha Kucha (20 slides, with 20 seconds per slide)
  • Conference Presentation (15 minutes)
  • Academic Research Paper (15 minutes)
  • Elevator Pitch (1 minute maximum)
  • Poster/E-Poster presentation
  • Video Presentation

NB: Students’ wishing to submit to the Conference are requested to submit in the format of a Poster/E-Poster or Video Submission.

We have put Friday 3 May 2019 as the deadline for submission, but would welcome proposals as soon as possible as this will help us to get organised. If you would like to discuss ideas for proposals with the conference organisers, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we have made this process simple this year with a dedicated TIRI Conference email address (). It would be a real pleasure to hear your ideas.

As soon as we have the proposals, the conference organising committee will review each proposal and will let each presenter know in due course if your proposal has been accepted to the conference – we expect this will be the end of May/early June.

To submit to the conference you can click the link in the call for papers documents of Click Here.

Thank you for your help and best wishes.

TIRI Conference Organising Committee.
