It’s normal to feel nervous or self-conscious on occasions like going on a date, giving a presentation or interviewing for a job. But social anxiety is more than just shyness or occasional nerves, it involves an intense fear of being scrutinised or judged by others leading to an avoidance of certain social situations and in turn disrupting your life in the process.
