We are very happy to report that we have now received confirmation that the University has been re-accredited for another 4 years by the Higher Education Academy. Our accredited provision has been enhanced and now includes assessing at all Descriptor levels, from D1 (Associate Fellowship) through to D4 (Principal Fellowship).

Staff (on campus and in our partner organisations) can gain Fellowship through:

  • University of Bolton STEP framework (which incorporates gaining professional recognition on the basis of experience)
  • Our taught provision – the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education.

Fellowship is not just for academics.  All staff in the University who teach and/or support our learners are eligible to apply for professional recognition at the relevant descriptor level.   Please see our website http://moodle2.bolton.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=618 or contact Jane Lovatt (Accredited Provision Lead) or Duncan Cross (Programme Lead for the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning) for further information.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education is open to all staff employed by the University to enable them to gain a relevant teaching qualification.  If you are interested and have not already applied speak to your Head of School in the first instance who must approve your application.

We will shortly be advertising workshops and assessment panels via the Moodle site above.  If you are already a Fellow/Senior Fellow then we are seeking mentors and assessors so we would love to hear from you.

Dr. Ebrahim Adia, Duncan Cross, Jane Lovatt
