The University has been advised by the Universities & Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) that the 2015-16 national pay negotiations have now concluded.

We are pleased to confirm that following a recommendation made by the Resources Committee, the Board of Governors (at its meeting held on the 18 November 2015) approved a pay increase of 1 % on all pay points for 2015-16 with effect from 1 August 2015 for eligible staff – apart from pay points F04 to F08 inclusive where larger increases apply. This compares to inflation (as measured by CPI) which has been between -0.1% and 0.1% during 2015.  The University will implement the increase in the December payroll (back-dated to 1 August) – in time for the Christmas break.

The settlement also means that UCEA and the sector trade unions will progress on further joint work on the gender pay gap and on HEIs’ approaches to casual staff employment.

An updated pay scale will be available on the HR section of the website in the near future.

Further information on the pay negotiations can be found on the Universities & Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) website.
