Biology expeditions star comes to Queen’s

As part of the University of Bolton’s TIRI Global Learning week, Dr Dan Exton, Marine Research and Operations Manager for Operation Wallacea will be visiting the Department of Biology.

Operation Wallacea organises research expeditions focused on the biodiversity and conservation management of a range of environments. Students often join these expeditions to gain experience, strengthen their CV, or acquire data for final year projects. Everyone is welcome to this lecture. Read more here…

Advertising business development guru Duncan Slater has been giving University of Bolton Graphic Design students his unique insight into what works in his industry.

McCann’s is known around the world for its powerful advertising legacy with campaigns for brands such as Coca Cola. It was McCann’s who developed the ‘It’s the real thing’ tagline and produced the iconic ‘I’d like to teach the world to sing’ hilltop advertisement. Read more here…


AmbulanceChallenges of health workers

Student nurses from the University of Bolton have been developing their team work and communication skills with Bolton Mountain Rescue.

The mountain rescue team, who are based at the North West Ambulance Service headquarters in Bolton, regularly respond to calls to help walkers, hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers across moorland and open country. The team also support in urban emergencies – such as drivers trapped in motorway snowdrifts. Read more here…

The Centre for Islamic Finance at the University of Bolton was delighted to welcome Paul Druckman, CEO of the International Integrated Reporting Council, as the latest speaker in their series of lectures.

Having served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, as a member of the City Takeover Panel and Chairman and non-executive director of a number of companies, Paul Druckman is well known and respected throughout the business and accounting profession.  Read More here…
