Senior Lecturer and lead for the District Nursing Specialist Practice Programme, Nyree Kendall, has been given the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) by community nursing charity The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).
She’s been featured in The Bolton News newspaper (although not on the website, so we can’t link to her story) and she’s been a social media sensation on our Facebook page. Her story reached 6,350 in one hit and more than 120 people ‘liked’ her story.
The title is not an award for past service, but indicates a commitment to high standards of patient care, learning and leadership. Nurses who hold the title benefit from developmental workshops, bursaries, networking opportunities, and a shared professional identity. Judging by her comments, she inspires much support.
Well done, Sports Rehab student Olivia Ratcliffe – our champion climber finished her 16-hour challenge at 11.10pm on Wednesday night – she reached that Everest target and raised an amazing £840 with all her fundraising for Cancer Research UK and Climbers Against Cancer. That’s more than four times her goal.
Olivia has been in the Bolton News newspaper (although not on the website, so we can’t link to the story) and she’s amassed impressive Facebook support over the week as we tracked her journey – more than 115 likes, reaching a total of 6,500 people.
