The Library recently hosted a successful online exchange of experience event for NoWAL (North West Academic Libraries). Over 45 staff attended the event from universities across the UK.

UoB Library staff curated the programme which featured contributions from library staff and academics at Lancaster University, Northumbria University and the University of Sheffield.

Topics included:

  • A review of library initiatives to support mental health and wellbeing using a holistic model
  • Initiatives to support library staff wellbeing during the pandemic
  • A student-led approach to developing a collection of inspirational reading

A summary of the event can be found here.

Attendees were very positive about the opportunity to learn from other library practitioners and academics:

“Many thanks – I have found it really helpful and thought-provoking”

“Thanks to all the speakers and UoB for hosting – great job!”

“Thanks everyone, all really interesting”

The University of Bolton Library has its own Wellbeing Resources Reading List, highlighting relevant wellbeing-focused titles from the Library’s collections. Staff and students wishing to work with the Library on wellbeing-related topics can contact their Academic Librarian.
