Bille Hatton, Fine Art student is collecting donations for a shoe box appeal to help local people this coming winter. The idea stemmed from her studying the impact of poverty as part of an art project. She decided to take her learning out of the classroom and onto the streets, starting a drive for donations in the hopes of making a difference.
Bille said, “I started looking into poverty and the effects on the streets of Government cuts, there’s a lot of people in need and I wanted to put a little bit of good back into the world. A lot of people struggle at this time of the year and I believe the project I am coordinating will really help genuine people in need.”
If you have any spare winter clothing such as hats, gloves and scarves please donate them to the stations set-up around the University.
