ChaplaincyThe Chaplaincy is here to offer a place of peace and stillness for everyone. Please feel free to drop in to any of our activities. We are here to support everyone, especially at times of stress or pressure.

New starting this week:

There is a box in the chaplaincy lobby area with cards for anyone who would like to leave a prayer request. Prayers will be offered once a week at the Monday 12.30pm devotional time.

Mondays 12.30 – 12.45pm – a time of Christian reflection and devotion to start the week, led by Dele Oderinde.  There will be a soothing start, a reading from Scripture and Dele will include the prayer requests that have been left in the box.

Our regular activities include:

Tuesdays at 8.15am

Morning Prayer with Gill Smart. 15 minutes of Christian worship and prayer to get the day started well.

Wednesdays at 1.15 – 1.45pm

Meditation and Stories in the Quiet Room. This is a pause for relaxation and meditation in the middle of the week. “Meditation and Stories” includes relaxing, spiritual music, stories and spiritual parables from around the world and an extended time of silence for meditation, reflection or just relaxation. It is led by Chaplain Stephen Lingwood and all are welcome, staff as well as students.

Fridays at 1pm

Friday prayer (Jummah Salah) in the Prayer Room and the Quiet Room.

Information about when Chaplains and Pastoral Assistants are usually present in the University is displayed in the chaplaincy, and you can always contact us by emailing if you would like to speak to someone.
