First TIRI Showcase Event – “Far Reaching and Holistic Teaching

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the TIRI Conference has been postponed. Instead, this year, we are launching our first TIRI Showcase to be held on Tuesday 14th July from 10 am until 1 pm.

The theme for the first Showcase is ‘Far Reaching and Holistic Teaching and will explore how we –  as a Teaching Intensive Research informed University – have responded and managed our support for learning and teaching in the current environment.  The format for the Showcase includes sessions of up to 15 minutes with opportunities for Q & A.

We now invite proposals for sessions on how you have adapted to Teaching and Learning during the pandemic.  Sessions should be no longer than 15 minutes and could include:

  • Tips and Hints for online delivery
  • Specific Use of Technology
  • Supporting Learners through tutoring
  • Alternative and creative assessments
  • Managing assessment in crisis
  • University of Bolton’s Holistic University Experience (Four Pillar’s) Model in COVID-19 context
  • Curriculum changes for the future
  • Student panel sessions on their experience
  • Change of services and how they might operate in the furture.

You can submit proposals at the online form here  by Friday 15th June.  You should also indicate whether you would like to deliver your session on Zoom, MS Teams, other platforms, or whether you will pre-record the session for delivery.

You will need to log into Teams to complete the form and you can share this call for proposals with your students.

The organising team will be in touch with you asap after the 15th June 2020 to inform you whether your session has been accepted.

If you have any questions regarding the Showcase, please contact Dr Duncan Cross at
