The ‘Knit & Natter’ Group will officially launch next week on Wednesday 13 November and will continue weekly.

Staff and students have shown lots of interest in the group and cannot wait to get started with craft making whilst also have the opportunity to catch up with friend and develop new friendships. The group has a range of patterns available and some spare needles and wool, so why not give it a go?

Knitting and crocheting have many benefits on both physical and mental health. The rhythmic and repetitive nature of ‘knit one, purl one’ can be calming, comforting and contemplative, and is now used in some Mindfulness practices. Studies have shown that it can be also be a valuable self-help tool for those dealing with low mood, anxiety, and depression as it can help to manage everyday stresses.

Develop a new skill this winter and knit a scarf or two before Christmas and surprise someone with a lovely homemade gift?

Please bring your lunch, and there will also be tea and coffee available. For further information please contact either Pam Hardy on 3094 or Maureen Morrison on 3233.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 13 November at 13:00 in the Life Lounge, (2nd Floor T Block).
