It is survey time again, and the following three student surveys are running in 2018 starting W/C 29 January and ending on 30 April 2018:
1. National Student Survey (NSS)
This survey is aimed at mainly final year undergraduates.
2. UK Engagement Survey (UKES)
This survey replaces the UPSS and is aimed at undergraduate students who are not eligible for the NSS 2018 including students at overseas centres. The University’s Polymaths students are also eligible for the UKES.
3. Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
This survey is aimed at postgraduate taught and postgraduate Initial Teacher Training students.
In each case, we are asking Programme Leaders to brief eligible students on the programmes they lead and provide opportunities for students to complete the survey in class time. To assist with the briefings, Programme Leaders will receive briefing information and a presentation to show eligible students, and will be supported by the AC SELE for their School.
Completing the surveys is voluntary for students and there should be no persuasion techniques (inappropriate influence) used to encourage students to give higher ratings than they feel are applicable. Students should be encouraged to give honest feedback. They should also be given privacy to complete the survey, and staff should not be “standing over” students whilst they are completing it. For more information about the surveys please contact Dr. Marie Norman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Adam Johnson (email@example.com).
