The university’s BSc (Hons) Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling programme, which is now ranked 49th in the country after scoring 92% for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2017, has recently received dual accreditation.
Now with accreditation from both the ABC Awards and British Psychological Society (BPS), students on the programme gain the ABC level two certificate in counselling skills upon completion of the year one module: Introduction Go Counselling Concepts. The level three certificate is also granted upon completion of the year two module: Counselling Skills.
As well as providing students on the programme with additional qualifications and skills, both of which will enhance their employability opportunities, the dual accreditation enhances the creditability of the university’s psychology department and its courses.
