Former Manchester United director, Maurice Watkins CBE, joined a large audience in the University of Bolton’s Law Court last night (Thursday 21 September), sharing some interesting and controversial behind-the-scenes experiences from his impressive career.
The interview, held by ex-Krypton Factor presenter, Dr Gordon Burns, questioned Watkins on his remarkable 28-year career with Manchester United, where he guided the club through significant growth. With media headlines resonating around football’s top names and the stock market flotation during his three-decades with the club, Watkins shared exclusive insights into the Manchester United careers of household names including Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham OBE, Peter Schmeichel MBE, Eric Cantona, as well as shared his experiences, highlights (and lowlights).

Watkins’ career includes chairmanships of British Swimming, Barnsley FC and the Rugby League European Federation along with directorship of Lancashire Country Cricket Club.
