We are delighted to announce that the TIRI Teaching Awards 2017-18 is now open for Expressions of Interest. The scheme seeks to recognise and celebrate teaching excellence at the University, and last year six members of staff achieved awards.

There is a two-stage process for nominations and applications:

1. Staff who wish to Express an Interest for an award must have the following:

  • support from their Head of School,
  • any category of HEA Fellowship,
  • successful teaching excellence observation (If in a teaching role),
  • and at least one year’s service.

An Expression of Interest (Appendix A in the overview or the additional document) – must be electronically completed and submitted via email by the nominee by the 1st October (Heads of School must be cc’d).

2. Supported Nominees will be invited to an application workshop to help them develop their application. This application (Appendix B) is aligned to the HEA NTFS scheme and requires a written submission of up to 3000 words which will have to be submitted electronically by 12 pm on the 1st February 2018.

For further information please speak to your Head of School, one of the TIRI Teaching Professors, or Dr Duncan Cross (ku.ca1527355497.notl1527355497ob@ss1527355497orc.d1527355497)
