KTP Associate (Wearable Technologies Research Associate)

The University of Kent are seeking a recently qualified Masters level or PhD graduate who will be responsible for the development of new capabilities for wearable technologies licensed by Smartlife. This post, lasting 2 years, will use motion capture technology to validate algorithms for the detection of respiratory function for consumer and specialist use.

KTP Research Fellow (to design and produce a computer vision-based application for autonomous forklift trucks)

To transfer knowledge in computer vision for robotics from the University of Birmingham to the Hyster-Yale Group.

• Identifying the current state of the art in computer vision algorithms for industrial mobile robots by critically reviewing the scientific literature
• Implement identified algorithms and evaluate their performance
• Gather appropriate real-world data sets from application environments.
• Develop or adapt computer vision techniques, models and methods to perform on this data
• Present research outputs, including drafting academic publications or parts thereof, for example at seminars and as posters
• Provide guidance as required to staff and any students who may be assisting with research
• Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
• Carry out administrative tasks related directly to the delivery of the research and knowledge transfer
