It is that time in our calendar when our institution prepares for the most important event in the life of our students – the degree congregation ceremonies.
This year, more than 1300 students out of those eligible to receive awards will participate in graduation, with their family and friends also enjoying the event and sharing in their success. The ceremonies are a very special occasion for everyone at the University of Bolton, and this year will be more special than ever as graduation will take place at the newly renovated Albert Halls at Bolton Town Hall.
As part of the University’s growth, the Albert Halls have been identified as a fitting place for the graduation, providing not only the status which the ceremonies deserve but also a venue which will engage the students emotionally.
This was already tried and tested at the installation ceremony of our Chancellor last March where your hard voluntary work played a pivotal role to the success of this milestone.
We have received many comments stating how pleased and impressed everyone was with the smooth organisation of the event and this would not have been possible without everyone’s participation and effort.
The Installation marked a new era for our University, which by being a volunteer meant that you were part of a very special milestone and will be remembered for years to come.
In addition to this the Town Hall is surrounded by Le Mans Crescent making the perfect setting as this has now become formally part of the University estate.
To make graduation once again successful, I’d like to ask for your support to contribute to this prestigious event. Your involvement as University staff is indispensable in making our graduating students’ days memorable, and we really value the commitment and enthusiasm shown each year. Our presence at graduation fills our graduands with pride and, with this in mind and on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, I would like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the ceremonies either as a member of the academic staff or as a volunteer.
