On Saturday 10 June 2017 students and staff from the University of Bolton, assisted by 3 Medical Regiment and 64 Medical Squadron, will be undertaking the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

UCLAN, the University of Salford and Bolton College are also taking part, with the HE/FE establishment completing it in the quickest time judged the winner.

The determine the quickest time, the timings of the first ten people from that institution will be added together.

The Challenge involves walking 24 miles over three mountains – Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

The cost is £11.25 for the day. This includes transport, the walk, a T-shirt and BBQ  (you just need to bring snacks and water for the walk).

The plan for the day is:
– 5am pick up at University of Bolton (coach to be provided by the military)
– 3 Peaks
– Army tasks and entertainment
– Transport back to UoB (aim to be back by 9pm)

The trip is limited to 100 spaces (70 spaces on the coach with others having to make their own travel arrangements.

There is also the option to camp on Friday and/or Saturday night and make a weekend out of it. If you would like to do this option you will need to make your own way there and back as the coach is booked for return trip on 10th.
