The University of Bolton strode to success with its first relay marathon which took place this week.
The event forms part of the Duke of Edinburgh Diamond Challenge with staff, students and local businesses taking part to raise money for charity.
The relay marathon is the first of its kind at a UK university, with the marathon distance (26 miles) divided equally between the seven competitors of each team.
Twenty nine teams took part, with each participant aiming to complete 15 laps of the 400m course within an hour. The winning team, Perpetual Fostering 2, completed the marathon in the quickest time.
We’d like to thank everybody for participatin and raising money for charity in what was a wonderful day.
We have two more events taking place before the end of the year. On Wednesday 23 November The Big Dance will take place in the SLZ from 12 noon to 2pm. This is your chance to get on your dancing shoes and tap away to some of the best music over the past 30 years whilst raising money for charity.
Two weeks later on Wednesday 7 December The Big Sing takes place from 12 noon to 2pm in the SLZ. Sing your heart out and raise money for young people who it need it the most.
