The graduation ceremonies on Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 July, due to be held on campus for the first time, are quickly approaching.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for volunteering to support the most auspicious event in the lives of our students and in our University’s reputation. Secondly, it is important to clarify that most of the graduation’s set up will remain the same as in previous years, for example, the gown fitting rooms remain on D2 corridors; the reception and registration areas remain at the Atrium – at the Main Reception and the VIP parking remains the same etc.
The only thing that will be majorly different is the location of the ceremonies, so in essence, you will need to visualise that Victoria Hall has been moved on campus to the Sward. However, for practical reasons, the events that were previously taking place at the VC’s office have been moved to the Stoller Building (UTC) therefore, E4 will not be used and all VIP’s will be guided to the Stoller Building (UTC).
As you can see, from today, a crew is setting up the Graduation Pavilion and it will be ready by close of play today, this Friday, 8 July.
Since the Graduation Pavilion has never been on site, it is necessary for everyone to know how it is going to look, beforehand. For this reason, I would like to invite you to two sessions in which we will explore the venue, in detail, in order to familiarise ourselves with the layout and in order for me to update you on the details of the ceremonies, and the new set up and process.
The first session will take place on Monday 11 July at 12:30pm and the second will be on Tuesday 12 July at 10am. Both sessions will take place on the Graduation Pavilion at The Sward.
