There were celebrations all round for the University of Bolton staff, students and racing drivers on Sunday at the first round of the British GT Championship.

University driver Anna Walewska teamed up with former British GT4 runner up Nathan Freke to finish second on the podium at Brands Hatch.

The all-new partnership has already enjoyed success, winning their class at the Dubai 24H race.


Kelvin Fletcher was also in action for round 2 of the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

In a drama-packed weekend, BTCC stalwart Hunter Abbott and TV star Kelvin had somewhat unusual April weather conditions to contend with at Donington Park.


The great and the good of Bolton came together to pay tribute to 16 inspirational women who devote their time to helping others at UTC Bolton last Friday.

The second annual Inspirational Women Awards, organised by the Women in Neighbourhoods group and Bolton Interfaith Council was hosted by broadcaster Gordon Burns.

The glitzy event saw the 16 community champions honoured for a wide variety of work which is carried out for the benefit of others.
