SRC

Are your students looking for a fun opportunity where they can share their research, develop public engagement and networking skills or gain experience in presenting research? Would they like the chance to win a prize towards research? Then the University of Bolton Student Research Conference (SRC) is the event for you.

On Wednesday April 27 2016, the University of Bolton will convene the Annual SRC, a three-day university-wide celebration of student research, scholarship, and creative achievement.

The SRC is open to all students of the University of Bolton. It is an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those who graduated in summer 2015, to voluntarily share knowledge with their peers, faculty, community, guests, and reviewers through oral and poster presentations, technology showcases, roundtable discussions, and studio and performing art.

The SRC 2016 encourages students to develop professional oral presentation, writing, and document design skills to communicate their research to a multi-disciplinary audience. It is hoped that faculty will formally integrate the SRC 2016 event into course schedules and modules by incorporating relevant assignments.

An eligible presentation will report, perform or represent the outcome of substantial work by a student or group of students. Research does not have to be complete; presentations can represent any stage of a project’s evolution, from proposal and literature review to fully completed experiments. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and those accepted will be invited to present at the conference. All accepted abstracts will be published in the printed Abstract Book.

The deadline for abstract submission is 5pm, 15 April 2016. Please encourage students to take part.

The SRC 2016 is organised by the Bolton Students’ Union and the Postgraduate Research Society. It is funded by the University of Bolton Learning Enhancement Fund.
