Representatives of the University of Bolton will be speaking at the prestigious European First Year Experience (EFYE) Conference in Ghent, Belgium, next week.

Associate Director for Student Life at the University of Bolton, Dr Emily McIntosh and Doctoral Researcher in the School of Education & Psychology, Chathurika Kannangara will present a workshop entitled “Interviews with Gritty Students – The Role of Grit in Student Success and Retention”.

The tenth EFYE Conference, taking place 4-6 April, focusses on three main themes: transition, well-being, and education and learning in the student lifecycle. It brings together academics and support staff from across Europe who are interested in improving the experience of students as they enter Higher Education.



TV star and racing driver Kelvin Fletcher is back in the hot seat and ready to race for the University of Bolton in the premier UK racing series, the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

The news was announced at the BTCC 2016 season launch at Donington Park where Kelvin was on the track, practising as part of the Power Maxed Racing (PMR) team in his Chevrolet Cruz. The championship starts this weekend at Brands Hatch and runs until October.
