he School of Psychology and Education will host the first Psychology, Physiotherapy and Counselling conference on Tuesday 19 April 2016.

The ‘Changing Attitudes Changing Lives’ Society is organising the event, which welcomes speakers from a range of backgrounds. Talks will focus on enrichment activities that promote a positive mental wellbeing.

The conference aims to inspire students by building confidence and so enhance employability.

Speakers include Professor David Kitchener, Professor Jerome Carson, Paul Russell, Chathurika Kannangara, Ian Shuttleworth and many more.

Topics focus on:

  • Substance Abuse
  • Depression
  • Mental illness
  • Attitudes
  • Criminality
  • Determination
  • Positivity

The conference begins at 10.15am with registration, followed by networking opportunities and refreshments.

Lectures commence at 11.00am with a break for lunch at 12.15pm. After a hot lunch the afternoon session begins at 1.30pm.

The event finishes at approximately 3.30pm with a post-event reception in the SU Bar where students will have the opportunity to talk one-to one to the conference speakers.
