A host of events, special lectures, conferences, workshops and presentations marked Employability Week at the University of Bolton.

The importance of employees and shared organisational values were the focus for Warrington Wolves CEO Roger Draper, Chief Executive of Warrington Wolves. He is now leading a more informed approach to sports business management ensuring that Warrington Wolves are one of the leading Rugby League Clubs in the world.

Employers joining students included sofa company Sofology who brought the changing face of retail as a career choice to Bolton Business School students, aided and abetted by a special guest six-foot sloth called Neal!

Decathlon shone a spotlight on the entrepreneurial career model open to students interested in the company’s graduate scheme and the community-focused volunteering opportunities open to students through the Bolton store which is a University partner.

And how to shine in the pursuit of your career choice was showcased by Business Growth Creator, Speaker and Coach Neil Simpson, who came in to reveal the mysteries of LinkedIn and how to make the social media tool work for you.

Said Julie Bateman: ‘We have had an eclectic mix of events for students this week, across all Schools and subject areas, aiming to bring key insights into the 21st century business environment, while bringing practical tips on how to build up to graduating with a strong start made on their professional future.’
