The University has been granted a TEDx licence to hold the first conference of its kind in Bolton. The TEDxUniversityofBolton will bring together innovative thinkers from across the University and larger community to explore ideas for our collective future.
The event is organized by the University and the Students’ Union and we need some help to identify students who can work with us to deliver this initiative.
For those of you who don’t know, TED is a non-profit organisation devoted to ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Visit www.TED.com to see some of their amazing talks.
The conference will be held on Tuesday 8 March and the 2016 theme is ‘Crossing Paths – Intersecting Ideas’. It encompasses a broad range of ideas and approaches which represent some of TED’s core values of forward-thinking, innovation and inspiration.
