On Thursday 11 February, Bolton SU will be holding its annual Respect event aimed at raising awareness of Hate Crime, the event is held in conjunction with Greater Manchester Police as part the Official Greater Manchester Hate Crime Awareness Week. The event will be opened in the Social Learning Zone at 11am by the Mayor of Bolton Councillor Carole Swarbrick and will close at 2pm. There will be lots of local and national organisations and charities on hand giving out information, advice and guidance on all matters relating to Hate Crime. Bolton Octagon theatre will be on campus performing live performance poetry and a balloon releasing ceremony will take place at 1.45pm.
Bolton Students’ Union has a £25,000 Student Experience Fund, and all students and staff are invited to submit their ‘Big Ideas’ to improve University life for consideration.
